Background

Elizabeth A. Kallenborn is a member of Colorado Technical University’s Nursing Advisory Council. As a member of the council, Kallenborn serves as a liaison between the always-evolving word of nursing and CTU’s nursing degree programs. The Nursing Advisory Council’s primary function is to ensure that CTU’s nursing curriculum reflects the current requirements, benchmarks, standards, and expectations of the nursing world at large.

Kallenborn currently holds the position of Director Transplant Operations at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. As Director of Transplant Services, she is dedicated in the field of organ transplantation – focusing on both leadership and improving patient lives.

Prior to her current role, Kallenborn served in numerous transplant-related roles at the University of Kansas Health System as Director of Heart Transplant and Mechanical Circulation, Banner University Medical Center Tucson as Director of Transplant Services, and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, including: Clinical Manager Liver Transplant & Hepatology, Clinical Transplant Coordinator, and more.

Kallenborn has been involved in the nursing profession since 1983. Throughout her career, she has been featured in numerous publications for her research and lectured internationally on end-organ failure and transplantation. She is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE) and has served as President of International Transplant Nurses Society.
