CTU Readmitted Students

Life happens—we get it. We know that sometimes students need to take extended time off from their degree program for all sorts of reasons, but we’re ready to consider readmitting those students when the time comes. If you voluntarily withdrew from Colorado Technical University—that is, you were not dismissed¹—and are now ready to return to complete your former degree program or begin a new one, this page is designed to help you make more sense of the CTU process for readmitting students.

What Is a Readmitted Student?

A readmitted student is one who previously attended CTU, withdrew, and is now returning to the University. These individuals are considered new students and must meet CTU’s admissions criteria. To begin the admissions process, they need to contact the appropriate CTU Re-Entry Department and submit an online application for readmission consideration. A student who received an approved Leave of Absence (LOA) for medical leave, family care, military duty, or jury duty and is returning within their approved timeframe is not considered a readmitted student and does not have to repeat the admissions process. A student who was dismissed from CTU and wishes to return is also not considered a readmitted student and should refer to the University Catalog regarding dismissal appeals.

How to Apply as a Readmitted Student

Applicants for readmission to CTU must complete the following three-step process:

1. Connect with an Admissions Advisor.
2. Complete an online application.
3. Submit required documentation—e.g., proof of high school graduation, optional standardized test scores, college transcripts, etc. (Note that graduate programs may require additional admissions criteria, such as submission of an entrance essay or completion of an in-person or phone interview. Your Admissions Advisor can help you determine whether these additional criteria are required.)

University Readmission Policies

While we’re happy to consider readmitting undergraduate and graduate students, it’s important to know that current University admissions requirements may differ from those that were in effect when you previously attended.

• Students who first enrolled on or after July 1, 2012, and who wish to be readmitted to CTU are subject to the admissions criteria and tuition and fees in effect at the time of their re-entry.
• Students who first enrolled prior to July 1, 2012, and who wish to be readmitted to CTU are subject to the University admissions requirements in effect at the time of their original enrollment.
• Students whose reentry occurs within one year of withdrawal may return to the program and version they separated from if that program and version is available.
• Readmitted doctoral students will have their symposium event attendance reevaluated upon reentry to determine if attendance at future symposium events is required.
• As part of the readmission process, CTU will also reevaluate all advanced standing documentation to ensure that any previously earned advance standing credit is still accurate for your current program of study.

Financial Aid

CTU participates in and administers a number of financial aid programs in accordance with U.S. federal and state laws and its own institutional policies, and students are encouraged to apply for financial aid as early as possible.
